Knowing the Coat on the Caucasian Shepherd or Caucasian Dog

The grooming of the Caucasian Shepherd can be challenging because of its thick, double-layered coat. This fur was specifically developed to protect the dog from the freezing temperatures of the mountains.

To prevent matting, it is advisable to brush your Caucasian Shepherd at least three to four times a week. These dogs shed a significant amount of fur between spring and fall, necessitating regular grooming sessions.

While bathing these large dogs is not necessary and can strip away natural oils, it is crucial to keep their long coat clean to prevent skin diseases and maintain their overall health.
